Shavuot Wheat Weaving Workshop
Date: May 15th | 10:30 - 12:30
Materials: Provided
As Shavuot approaches, we invite you to a workshop exploring traditional weaving as both a material and a formal language. During the session, we will learn and apply braiding techniques to create two to three handmade wheat braids.
Wheat weaving is an ancient, cross-cultural practice, based on a repetitive, precise, and meditative action. The workshop will focus on precision, rhythm, and repetition, while developing a basic understanding of the braiding structure and its aesthetic potential.
No prior experience is necessary.
The moderator, Shahar Saban, a graduate of the Kulna Academy for Traditional Crafts, is a multidisciplinary craftswoman working in knitting, embroidery, felting, and clay.
