
Eco Knitting with Recycled Plastics

A creative and environmentally friendly workshop where you learn to cut plastic bags into threads and knit from them, a process that deals with both color, sustainability, and a new look at everyday material.
Instructor: Matan Shamai, contemporary artist, graduate of the Department of Ceramics and Glass Design at Bezalel. His work combines diverse materials and methods, and he has won several professional awards and scholarships, including the Sylvie Nisbet Award for Excellence, the Bezalel Tag for the Environment and Community for his final project Re-Cycle, and the First Studio Scholarship from Beit Binyamini – the Center for Contemporary Ceramics. Shamai exhibits in group exhibitions in Israel and internationally, and teaches ceramic design and handcrafting.
